Mitali Mukherjee

Director @ Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford
She has held senior editorial roles at Mint and The Wire, and worked as Markets Editor at CNBC TV18 and Prime Time Anchor at TV Today and Doordarshan. Mitali has also been a Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, co-founded two start-ups, and is a Chevening Fellow and TEDx speaker, with multiple fellowships and award nominations, including the Red Ink Awards in India.

Lotta Folcker

CEO @ Aftonbladet
Lotta Folcker is the CEO, editor-in-chief, and publisher at Aftonbladet. With a strong background in news, sports, and digital development, her career began as a reporter at Folkbladet in Norrköping. Before returning to Aftonbladet, she was VP at Viaplay Sports Sweden and held key roles at TV4 and Aftonbladet, including head of Aftonbladet TV. Known for her innovative leadership, she inspires teams to embrace change and drive progress. 

Tim Forrest

Head of Content Distribution & Commercial Innovation @ ITN
Based in London, he oversees global distribution partnerships, archive commercialisation, and the adoption of new technologies to support sustainable growth and innovation within broadcast and digital production houses and newsrooms.

 

 

Lena Edström

CTO @ TV4
Lena Edström has spent the past twelve years at Netlight Consulting as a consultant, partner, advisor and board member. She comes from the role of Senior Vice President Engineering at Trustly and has previously held similar roles at Klarna, Betsson, iZettle and Spotify, with particular experience in leading large product and technology organizations through technical transformations and new ways of working.

Tina Mari Flem

Editor-in-Chief & CEO @ NTB
She has driven NTBs transformation from traditional wire service to technology-driven media company with international ambitions. The first woman and first internal candidate to hold the role, she built NTB Partner from the ground up and holds executive and board leadership qualifications from INSEAD. Tina Mari was recently elected the first female President of Minds International, that brings together the commercially focused news agencies of the world. 

Sam Maxwell Tani 

Media Editor @ Semafor
Sam Maxwell Tani is a New York-based journalist covering media for Semafor. He previously was a member of the White House team at POLITICO, where he co-authored the daily West Wing Playbook newsletter. He has also written about media and politics for the Daily Beast and Business Insider.

 

Edward Qualtrough

Editorial Director @ DPP
Author of the industry-leading DPP Media CTO and Tech CEO Surveys, exploring strategies, challenges and investment priorities across media, broadcast and entertainment. Previously Technology Editor at New Statesman Media Group and Special Projects Editor for its tech title Tech Monitor, and Editor of CIO UK. He regularly meets with CTOs and digital leaders to discuss technology strategy, industry trends and disruptive threats.

Pål Nedregotten 

Head of Technology and Product Development @ NRK 
With 30 years of expertise at the intersection of journalism and technology, he previously served as EVP Data and Technology at Amedia, Norway’s largest publisher. He’s also been chair at the Norwegian Media Business Association. 

 

 

Sofie Hvitved 

Director of Media Futures & Innovation @ Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies
A futurist who explores how AI, automation and digital shifts are reshaping communication, content and decision‑making. She co‑leads the CIFS H3 AI Lab and researches liquid AI‑generated content, advises organisations, and sits on the advisory boards of Future Media Hubs, AION Lab and SFI MediaFutures. Previously, Sofie served on the Danish Media Board.

Sturle Rasmussen 

Partner @ Subrite & Skavl 
He is a partner at Skavl and a board member of Ease Live and Everviz. He co-founded Subrite, which helps creators and media monetize content through membership and related business models; clients include United.no, Svarttrost and Trines Matblogg. He previously worked at Schibsted and in independent news media and media technology.

 

Kjersti Løken Stavrum 

CEO @ Tinius Trust
Kjersti Løken Stavrum leads the jury for the Anne Jacobsen Memorial Prize. A journalist and editor by background, she is CEO of Tinius Trust, the controlling owner of Schibsted ASA. She has chaired Norwegian PEN, led Norway's Freedom of Expression Commission, and served as secretary general of the Norwegian Press Association. She holds a political science degree and a master's in management.

Christian Birkeland

Chief Digital Officer @ TV 2
He joined TV 2 in 2017, after serving as CEO of RiksTV. Previously, he worked for many years at the consultancy Accenture as a technology advisor and industry specialist in telecom, media, and entertainment. Birkeland holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from NTNU. He is also the chair of "SFI MediaFutures," serves on several boards, and advocates for product organization, agile methods, and digital transformation.

Kaj Backman

Head of Preparedness for news and sports unit at Yle
Kaj Backman is Head of Preparedness for the news and sports unit at the Finnish public broadcasting company Yle. He has worked at Yle for nearly 25 years, mainly in news, but also as Head of Radio and as an administrative manager for the news operation. He has been responsible for preparedness for more than 15 years and is now working to strengthen preparedness in Yle’s largest unit, which has 850 employees across 27 locations.

Liv-Jorunn Håker 

The Future Week Host & Development Editor @ Sunnmørsposten 
With a background in design and a track record of award-winning investigative and data journalism. She currently leads the newspaper’s work on artificial intelligence, collaborating with developers, journalists, and technologists across Polaris Media. Passionate about exploring new tools and formats in journalism, Liv-Jorunn also loves being on stage, usually as a singer, but this time as a host at Future Week.

Gard Steiro 

Editor-in-chief & CEO @ VG 
Gard Steiro (b. 1976) is a Norwegian journalist, editor and media executive. Since 2017 he has served as Editor-in-Chief and CEO of VG, Norway's largest news website. He previously held the position of News Editor at VG and Editor-in-Chief of Bergens Tidende. Steiro is part of Schibsted Media’s executive management team and holds several media industry positions, including Chair of E24 and Board Member of Faktisk.no.

Michal Valko 
Founding Researcher @ Isara Labs
Michal is the Founding Researcher at Isara Labs, a tenured researcher at Inria, and a lecturer at ENS Paris-Saclay. His work focuses on algorithms needing minimal human supervision, from reinforcement learning and bandits to self-supervised learning, self-play, and LLM fine-tuning and alignment. He received his Ph.D. in 2011, joined Inria in 2012, co-founded Google DeepMind Paris in 2018, and became Principal Llama Scientist at Meta in 2024.
 
Wilf Dinnick 
Founder, Mission A & asklaura.ai
Wilf is an award-winning former international broadcast journalist, reporting from crisis and conflict zones, serving as Middle East Correspondent for ABC News, reporter for CNN, and a leader in Al Jazeera's digital newsroom.  He is co-founder of AskLaura.ai, building the verification systems organizations need to navigate what comes next and previously founded OpenFile and runs Mission A, a Toronto-based strategic communications firm.
  
Luukas Ilves 
Advisor, Founder & non-resident fellow
Luukas Ilves is co-founder of the Agentic State initiative, AI advisor to the governments of Ukraine and Estonia, and non-resident fellow at the International Center for Defence Studies. From 2022–24, he was Estonia’s Government CIO and Undersecretary for Digital Transformation. He previously held roles with the Government of Estonia, European Commission, Guardtime and the Lisbon Council, and has received major honours from Estonia and Ukraine.
 
Jakob Rosinski 
Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services
Jakob Rosinski is a Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, solving complex media challenges across EMEA. Over nearly 20 years, he has shaped media archiving and workflow automation, including as VP of Product Management at Vizrt and lead of IBM’s Emmy-winning AREMA archive solution. After building core broadcast orchestration systems, he now helps organisations create open, agent-ready media supply chains for what comes next.
 

Hrefna Lind Ásgeirsdóttir
Director of Digital Development at RÚV
Hrefna Lind Ásgeirsdóttir is Director of Digital Development at RÚV. She has over 17 years of experience in software development, digital products, strategy and leadership. Before joining RÚV, she held senior roles at Digital Iceland, Tempo Software and Meniga, working with digital transformation, product development and software development.
 
  
Juan Carlos López Calvet
Director of Data & AI at Schibsted
Juan Carlos López Calvet is Director of Data & AI at Schibsted, where he drives the responsible use of AI and data to strengthen journalism. Combining product leadership and platform engineering, he focuses on newsroom automation, verification and generative AI, with editorial integrity, transparency and privacy at the core. He also advises and speaks internationally on practical, accountable AI adoption in media.
 
Madhav Chinnappa
Strategic Advisor. Former Visiting Fellow @Reuters Institute, Oxford. Ex-Google & BBC.
Senior executive consultant who has worked at the intersection of news, technology, AI and sustainability for more than two decades. Previously Director of News Ecosystem Development at Google, where he launched the DNI Fund and the Journalism Emergency Relief Fund. Began his career at Associated Press Television and spent over nine years at BBC News.

Jan Emil Gran
Head of Security at NRK
Jan Emil Gran is the Head of Security at NRK, overseeing digital security, physical security, and preparedness. Appointed in 2026, he previously served as Deputy Director General at the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, building on extensive experience in security, resilience, and crisis management from his background in the Norwegian Red Cross and the Norwegian Armed Forces.

Inga Bejer Engh
Assistant director of PST
Inga Bejer Engh is the assistant director of the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST), a position she has held since spring 2024. From 2018 to 2024, she served as Ombudsperson for children in Norway. A trained lawyer, Bejer Engh also gained prominence as a prosecutor in the July 22 trial of Anders Behring Breivik.
  
 
 
Rowan de Pomerai

Rowan de Pomerai is CEO of the DPP, with experience across broadcast, production, streaming, and software, giving him a rounded understanding of the media and technology industries. He joined the DPP in 2018 as CTO and became CEO in 2024. He now leads the association, providing insights and connections to over 500 member companies worldwide through events, collaboration, research and analysis.

Hossein Sharif
Founder & CEO of As If Pictures
Hossein Sharif is founder & CEO of As If Pictures, a change management and workflow design firm trusted by BBC, Sky News, Wall Street Journal, TV Globo and other leading media organisations. Its WAAS and “full vertical slice” methodology spans architecture, metadata, automation, training and on-air execution. As If Pictures also builds RollOut, The Crossing, CoJourno and Kvasir for rollout, transition, AI automation and training.
 
Tyson Kubota
Staff Product Designer at The New York Times
Tyson Kubota builds digital tools that tackle ambiguous problems, reimagine complex workflows, and extend human capabilities and judgment. As a technologist and design lead at The Times’ Publishing platform group, he has led multiple newsroom products and shaped broader CMS strategy, including a major initiative to build a modern, flexible content management system for all NYT brands and newsrooms.
 

Sanna Tornivaara
Head of News Production and Technology at Yle
Sanna Tornivaara is Head of News Production and Technology Services at Yle, Finland’s national public service broadcaster. With a background in industrial engineering and management, she specializes in performance management, strategic planning and turning organizational goals into concrete actions and results. Her experience also spans PMO leadership, financial performance and technology-driven development.
 

Tarjei Leer-Salvesen
Freelance investigative reporter
Tarjei Leer-Salvesen is a freelance investigative journalist and author. He has previously worked for Klassekampen, NRK Brennpunkt and Fædrelandsvennen. He created Innsyn.no, a tool run by the Faktisk newsroom, and is the author of the textbook Innsyn i praksis. He also teaches and gives courses to fellow journalists on how to access and work with public records.
